FAQ
A. How long does it take to print architectural elements?
The time required to print architectural elements can vary depending on the size and complexity, but 3D printing is a highly efficient process. For instance, a prefab column with a diameter of 16 inches and a height of 8 feet, made up of 10 separate sections, can have all sections printed in under 2 hours. This enables the entire column to be completed quickly by printing and assembling each section.
B. What is the structural capacity of this concrete?
Our concrete have a compresive strenght of around 50 MPa, which is 20 point higher then standard molded concrete (30MPa).
C. Why are prints hollow?
To optimize printing speed and save material, we typically print the outer shell of elements, leaving the interior hollow. This design choice also allows for the integration of structural, mechanical, electrical, and insulation components within the 3D printed modules.
D. Can 3D printed concrete be used for outdoor projects?
Yes, 3D printed concrete is highly suitable for outdoor applications. Our 3D printed concrete is designed to withstand the elements, offering durability and weather resistance for a variety of external uses. With proper mix formulations and post-processing treatments, such as sealants or coatings, our concrete can be adapted to meet the specific needs of outdoor environments, including exposure to moisture, UV rays, and temperature variations. Whether for landscaping, sculptures, facades, or structural elements, 3D printed concrete offers a versatile and sustainable solution for outdoor projects.
E. Is the natural finish the only option for 3D printed concrete?
No, the natural finish is not the only option for our 3D printed concrete. We offer a range of customizable colors, textures, and finishes to meet the aesthetic needs of your project. By incorporating pigments and surface treatments, we can achieve various shades and effects, providing you with flexibility in design while maintaining the strength and durability of the material.
This option is also available for bio-concrete.
F.Can I get a sample of your 3D printed concrete before committing to a project?
Yes, we can provide samples of our 3D printed concrete upon request. This allows you to assess the material’s texture, finish, and structural qualities before committing to a full-scale project. Please reach out to us for more information on obtaining a sample.
